Clinton opens Cheyenne, Casper campaign offices

By Brodie Farquhar

The Hillary Clinton presidential campaign will open offices in Cheyenne and Casper on Wednesday, under the leadership of Wyoming State Director Jon Lipshutz, a veteran of Clinton campaigns in Iowa, South Caroline and Wisconsin.

“We have four staff, including myself,” said Lipshutz. Staff will man the two offices and work the state, locating and setting volunteers to work and talking to Democrats around the Cowboy State. The two offices are:
• Cheyenne, at 1603 Capital Avenue, Suite 209 and
• Casper, at 1455 South Poplar Street.

Lipshutz the two campaign offices will have open houses at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, to welcome anyone interested in the Clinton candidacy and campaign. The offices will be thoroughly stocked with yard signs, bumper stickers, information brochures and other campaign paraphernalia.

A major effort will be to recruit volunteers for a get-out-the-vote drive in Wyoming, and talking to Democratic voters to ask for their vote in the March 8 caucuses, he said.

Asked if there was any chance that Hillary Clinton might visit Wyoming, Lipshutz said “I’m not ruling anything out,” suggesting that surrogates like President Clinton or other party luminaries might visit Wyoming.

“We’ll hear more after the March 4th primaries (in Ohio and Texas),” said Lipshutz, “and I’ll be pushing for people to travel here.”

He said the most significant issues he hears from Wyoming Democrats are health care and the economy. Wyoming supporters like Hillary Clinton’s health care plan and are concerned about the national economy.
