Photographer Beau Johnston says of this photo taken in Yellowstone: “It was about -27F, according to a vehicle thermometer, that morning and Round Valley was socked in with fog. It had started to snow just as the sun was making its way over the Thunderer Mountain. I made my way down along Soda Butte Creek to frame the photo. The morning fog, combined with the falling snow, made for a dramatic sunrise.” (Beau Johnston – click to enlarge)
