Sheriff says semi rolling into deputy’s car illustrates growing trend of trucking violations

An overloaded semi-trailer rolled back onto a Laramie County Sheriff’s Office patrol car during a traffic stop this week. That was just one of the problems, with an inspection revealing nearly two dozen violations. Hogadon to open run, lift as Casper ski area makes more snow

Hogadon Basin Ski Area will open the Morning Dew run and accompanying Mineshaft lift on Saturday. Operating hours will follow the normal Wednesday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. schedule, Oil City News reports. “We’ll continue making snow on Boomerang as conditions and water availability allow,” Ski Area Superintendent Ryan Butler said. Wyoming shooting complex prepares ground for building

Work to prepare the ground for the Wyoming State Shooting Complex is moving forward even as the weather gets colder. In the last month or so, the joint powers board has approved contracts for geotechnical work and road building, the Powell Tribune reports. The complex’s board Chair Glenn Ross said he’d like to see work progress before the project’s supporters in the Wyoming House and Senate push for more funds. “We’ve gotta get some dirt moving before the Legislature [starts],” he said.
