The Wyoming House of Representatives has announced it will hold a swearing-in ceremony for newly-appointed Rep. Troy Mader (R-Gillette) on February 11 at 8 a.m.  Mader will fill the seat previously occupied by the late Rep. Sue Wallis (R-Recluse), who passed away January 28, 2014.

Mader is former precinct committeeman in the local Republican party. He is also a rancher, former sheriff’s deputy, writer, and musician. During the 1980s he lobbied against the reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone and wrote a book titled The Death Sentence of AIDS. He has produced two albums of music, one of which is titled Freedom’s Struggle and features music with patriotic and military themes.

The Campbell County commissioners selected Mader over two other finalists. See this article in the Gillette News-Record for more.
