This year, Wyoming candidates are running for two congressional offices, five statewide offices, as well as 62 Wyoming House seats and 17 Wyoming Senate seats. 

Polls closed at 7 p.m., and results will be updated as they become available.

Winners from the Aug. 18 primary election advance to the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

The Associated Press results below are only for contested Republican and Democratic primaries.

WyoFile's goal is to provide readers with information and ideas that foster constructive conversations about the issues and opportunities our communities face. What we're looking for: 

  • Your real name — first and last. 
  • Direct responses to the article. Tell us how your experience relates to the story.
  • The truth. Share factual information that adds context to the reporting.
  • Thoughtful answers to questions raised by the reporting or other commenters.
  • Tips that could advance our reporting on the topic.
  • No more than three comments per story, including replies. 

What we block from our comments section, when we see it:

  • Pseudonyms. WyoFile stands behind everything we publish, and we expect commenters to do the same by using their real name.
  • Comments that are not directly relevant to the article. 
  • Demonstrably false claims, what-about-isms, references to debunked lines of rhetoric, professional political talking points or links to sites trafficking in misinformation.
  • Personal attacks, profanity, discriminatory language or threats.
  • Arguments with other commenters.

Other important things to know: 

  • Appearing in WyoFile’s comments section is a privilege, not a right or entitlement. 
  • We’re a small team and our first priority is reporting. Depending on what’s going on, comments may be moderated 24 to 48 hours from when they’re submitted — or even later. If you comment in the evening or on the weekend, please be patient. We’ll get to it when we’re back in the office.
  • We’re not interested in managing squeaky wheels, and even if we wanted to, we don't have time to address every single commenter’s grievance. 
  • Try as we might, we will make mistakes. We’ll fail to catch aliases, mistakenly allow folks to exceed the comment limit and occasionally miss false statements. If that’s going to upset you, it’s probably best to just stick with our journalism and avoid the comments section.
  • We don’t mediate disputes between commenters. If you have concerns about another commenter, please don’t bring them to us.

The bottom line:

If you repeatedly push the boundaries, make unreasonable demands, get caught lying or generally cause trouble, we will stop approving your comments — maybe forever. Such moderation decisions are not negotiable or subject to explanation. If civil and constructive conversation is not your goal, then our comments section is not for you.

  1. Unfortunately, we have decided to give public lands to the rich. Harriet has been on a mission for years to take it. She was awful (and still treats those lowly ones as mud under her feet) and mean to so many public employees. Also, its ok to sell our names to the highest bidder. Did you get gross amount of texts from candidates. Thanks to Chuck our information is no longer private. Next say, “no way to Chuck Gray.” Please pay attention people. We need to know who is representing all our interests and not just their pocketbook.

  3. I want to thank all our supporters who helped gain this huge victory tonight it restores my faith in Wyoming. Knowing we could give the freedom caucus and all they’re out of state money and puppet masters a resounding beating!

  4. Well, it’s disappointing to see so many Freedom Caucus members and supporters get ousted by RINOs. The big money who put out relentless attack ads and mailers got their way with many seats. They successfully, but unfairly, painted the FC as taking away money from schools. In reality, they ended up giving more to the districts than before, and only had to reallocate and silo funds because districts were not giving teachers the designated raises that were required. I think it’s time to clean house in the GOP if people like Driskill can say mothers should be allowed special murder privileges if they don’t think their baby will “be a good one”, and still wear the GOP label. Some RINOs didn’t even show up to debate in person, like Heiner’s opponent Roberts. If you’re unfit to debate, you’re unfit for the job, in my opinion. Looking down the list at the sheer number of candidates using the label GOP, it seems a split or a culling of the organization is inevitable. I’d love to see more fair coverage of candidates and their positions, instead of letting a label do all the heavy lifting.

    2. The parties are what the voters want,and it sure looks like the freedom caucus has lost its appeal! Maybe reasonable people that don’t just kiss trumps boots no matter what crooked things he does.
