Cheyenne, Wyoming
Shared by: Schrader, Aragon & Jacoby Funeral Home
Dr. Donald Lee Bryngelson, 80, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on October 27, 2026. He was born on June 24, 1946, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Richard Bryngelson and Jean Bryngelson (Mc Fadgen). He was one of four children, along with Rich, Alice, and Doug. Their family bond was strong, and they always placed the care and love of family first. He married Jody Bryngelson, and together they had two daughters, Erin and Shauna, whom he loved deeply.
He dedicated his life to educating children. He began his career as a math teacher in Jeffrey City and later served as Superintendent of Schools in Jeffrey City, Pinedale, and Wheatland, Wyoming, as well as Raton, New Mexico. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Chadron State College and went on to earn two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in education from the University of Wyoming.
He was passionate about giving children a strong start in their education and helping them build life-long skills that would improve their lives. He also served as head of the Wyoming School Facilities Commission, where he helped build schools for children across the state.
Donald loved Wyoming and enjoyed every aspect of the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, hiking, and small-town life. As a young man, he served in the U.S. Army and later worked as a surveyor, hiking through Wyoming’s beautiful terrain. When we once asked whether he would ever leave Wyoming, he replied, “Why would I?” He truly loved his life in Wyoming.
He loved spending time with family and friends. He never said no to a new adventure and always had a gleam in his eye when fun was on the horizon. He had a wonderful sense of humor and preferred to keep life on the lighter side. Everyone who knew him appreciated his quick wit and joy for life.
He never asked for much and was always the first to help whether it was advice, a listening ear, or boots on the ground to fix something. His family was deeply blessed to share his life as a husband and father. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Donald is survived by his best friend, Jody, of Cheyenne; his daughters, Erin Bryngelson of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Shauna Bryngelson of Broomfield, Colorado; Joe Winter of Colorado; his sister, Alice Feser of Kennewick, Washington, and her children and their spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and his nephew and niece, Cory and Kim Bryngelson, and their spouses and children.

Rodney Eicke
January 29, 1944 – October 14, 2026
Riverton, Wyoming
Shared by: Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home
Rodney Eicke, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated friend and community member, died on October 14, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on January 29, 1944, in Fremont, Nebraska, to parents Herman and Hazel, Rod lived a life filled with love, laughter, and service.
Rod’s early years were shaped in Nebraska, where he grew up on the family farm. He shared stories of early mornings milking cows and dealing with cranky chickens. He graduated as salutatorian of Bennington High School in 1962. With a passion for mathematics, he pursued a bachelor’s degree in math education from Midland Lutheran College. After several years of teaching and coaching in Snyder, NE, he moved to Laramie to attend the University of Wyoming, where he earned a Master’s in mathematics.
He then moved to Riverton, the community he would call home for more than five decades. He had a variety of jobs, most notably teaching math at Central Wyoming College and Riverton High School. It was hard to go anywhere without someone recognizing “Mr. Eicke.” In the summers, Rod could be found behind the wheel of a tractor, getting back to his farming roots.
In 1971, Rod met the love of his life, Carol Butscher. From their first motorcycle ride, it was clear that they were destined to have many adventures together. They married in 1972, and together they built a beautiful family and shared 54 years of married life.
Rod and Carol were blessed with five children: Angela Schrader (Ben), Andrea Hayden (Jake), Aimee Appelhans (Aaron), Ariane Eicke, and Douglas Eicke, as well as eight cherished grandchildren: Madelynn, Donovan, August, Matthew, Joshua, Zachary, Christopher, and Gabriel.
Rod’s commitment to his community was evident through his long service with the Riverton Volunteer Fire Department, where he was Assistant Chief. He retired after 21 years of service, then served as commissioner for the Riverton Fire Protection District. He was also a long-time member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He was Past Exalted Ruler and 5 Year Trustee of Riverton Lodge 1693 and Past District Deputy for the state of Wyoming.
He greatly valued the opportunities these organizations gave him to serve his community, and he made many lasting friendships and memories.
A man of many talents, Rod had a remarkable ability to fix just about anything and was known to build or weld projects that were used for many years. His friends and family fondly recall his clever quips and quick-witted responses – one-liners that could always bring laughter to those around him. In retirement, he and Carol enjoyed traveling, including trips to Hawaii and Alaska, camping trips around Wyoming, many side-by-side rides, and numerous treks to visit their children.
Rod was a loyal fan of the Wyoming Cowboys and the Denver Broncos, and he even managed to hold out hope for the Colorado Rockies. Rod’s support for his teams was surpassed only by his devotion to his family. He was fiercely proud of his children, who were equally proud to call him Dad. They will never forget his familiar whistle, his wink, and the one-fingered wave from his steering wheel.
Rod is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Eugene. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol, their children, grandchildren, brother-in-law Bob Butscher (Karen), and many nieces and nephews. His spirit and orneriness will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A service to honor and celebrate Rod’s life will be held at 10:00 am on November 24, 2026, at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Riverton, WY. A reception will follow at the Riverton Elks Lodge. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Wyoming Elks State Trust or Riverton Volunteer Fire Department.

Rebecca “Becky” Jane Giudice
September 11, 1953 – October 28, 2026
Worland, Wyoming
Shared by: Bryant Funeral Home
Rebecca “Becky” Jane Giudice, 73, passed away on October 28, 2026, at her home in Worland, Wyoming, with her husband by her side.
Becky came from Cornhusker country, Nebraska. She was born on September 11, 1953, in Cozad, Nebraska, the youngest of five children. Shortly after her birth, her family relocated to Colorado, where Becky grew up in Longmont.
A hard worker from an early age, Becky served as a yearbook editor during high school while also working as a carhop at the local hamburger stand. She later worked at Mr. Steak Restaurant, where she was promoted to floor supervisor.
During her senior year of high school, Becky met Gary Giudice through a mutual friend on December 19, 1970. The two quickly became inseparable. Money was often tight in those early days, but they always found creative ways to spend time together. They didn’t need much to have a good time, just each other’s company.
Becky and Gary were married on October 16, 1971, beginning a marriage that would span 55 years. Following their wedding, Becky left Mr. Steak and began working for the local newspaper. When their first child arrived in October 1973, she stepped away from work to care for their growing family. Their second child followed in May 1975, and Becky later returned to the newspaper as a rural route carrier.
Between working and raising her children, Becky always managed to make time for softball. She loved the game, and no matter how busy life became, the ball field was somewhere she wanted to be. Give her the chance to hear someone yell, “Play ball!” and she was ready.
In the spring of 1980, Becky and Gary packed up their family and moved to Worland, Wyoming, sight unseen. Worland became home, and Becky soon found herself busy with work, family, and the friendships she made along the way. She worked as a checker at Safeway, Go Gas and later waited tables at the Elks and Ranchito. Becky genuinely enjoyed serving others, and waitressing gave her the opportunity to do something that came naturally to her: take care of people and make them feel welcome.
Their family grew again with the birth of their third child in 1981 and fourth in 1983. With four children to raise, a household to manage, and jobs to work, Becky certainly had her hands full. Still, she found time for the softball games she enjoyed so much.
Throughout her years in Worland, Becky worked for Larry and Anne Hill at Rolling Hills Trucking, where the working relationship grew into a lasting friendship for both Becky and Gary. She also worked as a receptionist at Basin Clinic and later at NGP. Eventually, she joined the Washakie County Clerk’s Office, handling accounts payable and payroll. She retired after 12 years of service.
In 2015, Becky began dealing with an unknown illness that would bring years of challenges and uncertainty. Through it all, she leaned on her faith in God, facing each day with determination and trusting in the promises of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Becky’s Christian faith was an important part of who she was, particularly during the difficult years of her illness. She looked forward to the day she would hear the words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and resting in the presence of her Heavenly Father.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lois Scott; sisters, Vivian McCann and Virginia Glen; and brother, Raymond Scott.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Giudice of Worland; sons, Jason (Maralee) Giudice of Worland and Anthony Giudice of Orofino, Idaho; daughters, Patricia Knopp of Laurel, Montana, and Christina Giudice of Worland; and sister, Marean Dyer of Hastings, Nebraska; grandchildren, Jerome, Tyler (Amanda), Garrett (Elizabeth Carver), Kyleigh (Raven) Heflin, Rhidge (Shayden), Brooks, Sabrina Knopp, Chloe (Noah) Shirley, Haylee (Juan) Giudice Lopez, Tate, Riley, and Bexley; six great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Worland Community Center Complex Conference Room. Memorial donations may be made to the Worland Senior Center, please send checks to PO Box 524 Worland, Wyoming 82401.

Loren Edward Laird
July 19, 1942 – October 31, 2026
Worland, Wyoming
Shared by: Bryant Funeral Home
“When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.” — The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
Loren Edward Laird, a larger-than-life figure known for his quick wit, adventurous spirit, and fierce devotion to his family, passed away on October 31, 2026, at the age of 84.
Born July 19, 1942, in the Worland Hospital (housed in the old library), Loren was the fourth of five children born to Russell and Florence Laird. He grew up on the Laird family farm, which his grandfather, Leroy Laird, originally homesteaded. An athletic and brilliant young man, Loren took first place at the state wrestling tournament and helped lead his football team to the 1959 State Championship, which the Worland High School Hall of Fame honored in 2026 alongside his lifelong friends and teammates.
After graduating from Worland High School in 1960, Loren attended the University of Wyoming and Casper College to wrestle, intending to pursue a degree in English Literature. From 1963 to 1966, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a radio operator in Germany, where his brothers David and Gene were also stationed. When he returned home, he farmed alongside his brothers. During this era, Loren could often be found driving his silver Corvette up and down Main Street, attempting to beat the two red lights; legend has it he once led the police all the way back to the farm, where his mother Florence opened the door and immediately asked, “What did he do now?”
Loren soon met the love of his life, Elaine Vilos, whose family owned and operated the Ram’s Horn Café. Captivated by her beauty, he always said she looked just like his own Sophia Loren. They were married in 1970 in a Greek Orthodox ceremony at the Episcopal church, followed by a legendary reception at the old community center that people talked about for years.
The couple moved to Laramie, where Loren earned a degree in Political Science from the University of Wyoming, choosing the major simply because he was told it was difficult. True to his deep love of literature and storytelling, Loren was rarely seen without a book in hand and was an avid film enthusiast, even driving his Corvette down to Casper just to meet John Wayne during filming of “Hellfighters” in 1968. He was a prolific journaler who poured his imagination into writing several unpublished novels until Parkinson’s made writing difficult. In his later years, when print became hard to read, he seamlessly transitioned to audiobooks to sustain his lifelong reading habits, while continuing to quote classical poetry and lines from his favorite classic westerns.
Returning to Worland, Loren and Elaine welcomed their daughters, Christina and Margie, while living in town. Known for his lifelong dedication to fitness, Loren recruited athletes to come across the street to lift weights with him in his garage, which was for years the popular place to hang out, and he won several powerlifting competitions. After running a local lumber business, Loren moved back out to the Laird farm in 1979, where he and Elaine welcomed daughters Sarah and Mary.
An avid marksman and trapshooter, Loren spent countless hours in his breezeway, where he enjoyed reloading bullets, smoking cigars, and drinking coffee while welcoming friends and family who stopped by to chat, share advice, and just spend time together. He also had a cannon and loved to shoot it at football games or early in the morning to wake everyone up. In the 1990s, he worked for the city and later found his true calling as the Superintendent of the Golf Course, earning a certificate from The Rutgers Professional Golf Turf Management School after a rigorous two-year program in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
A man of deep faith, Loren was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Worland, where his family were founding members and where he served faithfully as an elder, deacon, and church leader over the years. It was deeply important to him that his family joined him for service; he would go pick up his grandkids and bring them along, and he was always the first to be ready and waiting on his four daughters and then grandchildren. One of his favorite contributions was reading a poem to the congregation on Sundays.
Over the years, Loren trained dogs, raised sheep, hogs, chickens, and maintained a vibrant garden, even convincing the directors at his assisted living facility to let him grow tomatoes. Among his beloved animals was a Nubian goat, Billy, who joined Loren and his dogs on daily walks and was occasionally mistaken for a small horse. In his later years, one of his favorite things to do was drive his Gator around the farm. Over the past year, he resided in assisted living in Casper, continuing to touch the lives of those around him with his stories, warm humor, and enduring spirit.
Loren was a master storyteller, a man who loved to sing, dance, and quote classic literature. Above all, he was the beloved patriarch of his family, and his legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, and the many lives he touched.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Florence Laird; his siblings Julie Wortham, David Laird, Eugene Laird, and Penny Carroll; his beloved wife of 50 years, Elaine Vilos Laird; brothers-in-law Chris Vilos Jr., Frank Vilos, Donald Wortham, and John Carroll; and sister-in-law Mary Laird.
He is survived by his daughters Christina Laird-Rogers (husband Jon Rogers), Margaret Laird, Sarah Staley (husband Jason Staley), and Mary Florence Laird; his grandchildren Gage Rogers, Katherine Rogers (fiancé Riley Dye), Owen Kern (Hayley Wagner), Mable Goodman (husband Michael Goodman), Evalina Staley, and Henry Staley; expected great-grandson, Waylon Kern, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 12, 2026 at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Worland. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the United States Army and American Legion providing Military Honors. Visitation for family and friends will be held 6:00 PM Wednesday evening at the Bryant Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Washakie Museum and Cultural Center or the Worland Senior Center. Please send checks to PO Box 524 Worland, Wyoming 82401. Benny Phillip Mireles

Douglas, Wyoming
Shared by: Gorman Funeral Homes
Benny Phillip Mireles, 94, of Douglas, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at the Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, love, and a legacy that will live on through the many generations of family who loved him.
Benny was born on Saturday, February 13, 1932, in Dalhart, Texas, to Juan and Felicita (Vigil) Mireles. In 1948, he married the love of his life, Beatrice (Trujillo) Mireles. Together, they shared 73½ wonderful years of marriage before her passing. Their love and commitment to one another were a beautiful example of what it means to build a life together.
Benny was a hardworking man who took great pride in his work. He retired from F. E. Warren Air Force Base, where he served as Chief of Planning for Civil Engineering for 35 years. Even after retirement, he wasn’t one to sit still. He spent many years working as a handyman, always willing to lend a helping hand and put his skills to good use.
Outside of work, Benny enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life special. He loved traveling, fishing, and, most importantly, spending time with his family. One of his greatest joys was attending his grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. You could often find him cheering them on and making memories along the way. He was also a loyal fan of the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos.
Those who knew Benny will remember his wonderful sense of humor. He was quite the jokester and always seemed to have a way of making people smile or laugh. He enjoyed visiting with people, sharing stories, and making connections wherever he went. Even his trips to physical therapy became something to look forward to because of the friendships and visits with his peeps. Benny had a way of turning ordinary moments into special ones.
Above all, Benny loved his family. He was blessed to see his family grow through the generations, from children to grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even a great-great-grandchild. That is a beautiful legacy, and one that will continue long after his passing.
Benny is survived by his daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild, all of whom will carry his memory in their hearts.
While we are saddened by his passing, we can take comfort in knowing that Benny lived 94 years filled with love, hard work, family, friendship, and plenty of laughter. We will miss his jokes, his stories, his visits, and the special presence he brought into our lives.
Benny, thank you for the memories, the laughter, the lessons, and the love. You will forever be a part of the family you helped build. We hope you and Beatrice are together again, dancing through eternity.
You may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts.
Rest peacefully, Benny. You will be loved and missed always.
A Mass celebrating Benny’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at Saint James Catholic Church in Douglas, Wyoming. A reception will follow downstairs in Unity Hall.

Patrick Lynn Patrias
December 7, 1972 – November 2, 2026
Laramie, Wyoming
Shared by: Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home
Patrick Lynn Patrias, beloved father, husband, brother, son, cousin, uncle, nephew, and friend, entered the kingdom of heaven on 11/2/2026 after fighting like hell for 1,420 days against prostate cancer. Born 12/7/1972, he was taken far too soon and leaves behind his dear wife, Debbie; children Jordyn (husband DJ), Kylen, and Jasmine (plus, good dog, June). He is survived by his mother, Diane Patrias of Laramie; brother Scott Patrias; sister Angela King; and their families. Patrick’s father Bruce, and several uncles, aunts and grandparents are showing him around heaven and rejoicing to be reunited with their loved one.
Patrick was born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, and moved to Laramie at age five. A bit of a troublemaker, in the best sense, Pat’s many friends all have a funny story about his larger-than-life personality. Charismatic, fiercely loyal, and sentimental, everyone knows Pat loved his family, God, country, the Broncos, Texas Rangers, Manchester United, and Wyoming Cowboys – all of which were inked on his arms or adorned his truck in one way or another.
In his late twenties, Patrick moved to Texas before returning home to Laramie in 2015 to write his best and final chapter. There, he supported his parents through his father’s cancer journey, reconnected with family and friends, and met his beloved wife, Debbie.
He will be deeply missed for his warm smile, legendary movie trivia knowledge, famous green bean casserole, and uncanny ability to remember nearly everyone he ever met. Always ready to help, Pat seemed to “know a guy” for everything. He loved bringing people together and often made plans six months before anyone else. It was one of the many ways he showed his love.
Services will be held Nov. 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Snowy Range Evangelical Free Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the GoFundMe at https://tinyurl.com/PatriasStrong

Kent George Profit
April 21, 1944 – October 29, 2026
Big Piney, Wyoming
Shared by: Covill Funeral Home & Crematory
Kent George Profit was born on April 21, 1944, to George Reginald Profit and Patricia Annette O’Brien in Seattle, Washington. He passed away peacefully at his home in Big Piney, Wyoming, on October 29, 2026, surrounded by loved ones here on earth and those that welcomed him in Heaven.
Kent’s family roots in Wyoming ran deep. His great-grandparents homesteaded in LaBarge, Wyoming, in 1912, and Kent spent his first-grade year there. His family later moved to Idaho, where he graduated from Middleton High School with the Class of 1962. No matter where life took them, the family always made their way back to the T.E. O’Brien Ranch in Big Piney. Those visits helped establish a lasting connection to the area Kent would eventually call home.
On September 26, 1970, Kent married Judith Ann Smith. Together, they welcomed two daughters, Tanya in September 1972 and Cheryl in January 1975.
Kent wore many hats throughout his life, but hard work was always a constant. He began his career as a truck driver at just 18 years old, an occupation he carried with him throughout his life. He eventually founded KP Trucking in the early 2000s and worked as an owner-operator across numerous industries. A man of exceptional work ethic, Kent was never intimidated by a challenging job. He took tremendous pride in what he did, and even in his later years, he could be found putting in a hard day’s work and tackling whatever project was in front of him. He was simply not one to sit still.
Kent’s life was filled with adventures and hobbies. In his younger years, he earned his private pilot’s license and shared plenty of stories about his flying adventures. He also spent time team roping, a passion he would enjoy even more in his later years. One of his proudest moments came when he and his partner, Bob Bing, competed in Rock Springs for a chance to qualify for the World Series of Team Roping in Las Vegas. With the top 50 teams qualifying for the payout, Kent and Bob finished 51st out of more than 300 teams. It was an accomplishment he was proud of and a memory he cherished.
In 1998, Kent earned one of his most treasured titles when he became Pa with the birth of his first grandson, Tanner Kent Elliott. He was soon joined by Mathiew Sage Pierce in 1999, Teagan James Elliott in 2002, and Ruby Judith Pierce in 2003. Known affectionately as Pa to his grandchildren, it didn’t take long before he became Pa to just about every kid who crossed his path.
Kent was one of his grandchildren’s biggest fans. Distance was never an excuse, and he made every effort to be there for their activities, games, and milestones. Even after his grandchildren graduated, his loyalty to the Big Piney Punchers never wavered. He continued traveling to away games and cheering from the stands at as many home games as he could. He was a proud grandfather, and his family always knew they had someone in their corner.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents, George and Annette Profit; his wife, Judy; his brother, Mike Profit, and sister-in-law, Ilene Profit; his sister, JaNeane Hays; and his grandson, Tanner Kent Elliott.
He is survived by his daughters, Tanya (Steven) Greenwell and Cheryl (Vince) Pierce; his grandchildren, Mathiew (Hannah) Pierce, Ruby Pierce, Devon Eddie, Teagan Elliott, Lainee Andersen, Ryan Hristco, Kimberly (Eric) Tuten, KC Greenwell, Tyler Greenwell, Trevor (Jenny) Greenwell, Shelby Greenwell, Sadie Greenwell, and Colter (Misty) Stene; his great-grandchildren, Athena and Aurora Tuten, Marshall Swett, Autumn and Kenna Pierce, Myles Kent Elliott, Jesalie, Mia and Jackson Greenwell, Blaze and Brody Oakley, Rosalie Greenwell, and Tatum, Harper, Raelynn, and Barrett Stene; his sisters, Toni David and Laurel Profit; along with several nieces and nephews.
It is nearly impossible to condense Kent’s big, full life into a few paragraphs. His work history alone could fill pages, and his adventures and stories could keep a room entertained for hours. But those who knew Kent don’t need an obituary to tell them who he was. They know the stories, the laughter, the determination, and the unmistakable presence that came with him.
Kent never met a stranger. He was genuinely interested in people, never missing an opportunity to hear someone’s story, strike up a conversation, or lend a helping hand. He lived life on his own terms, worked hard, played hard, loved his family, and left his mark on countless lives along the way.
He was a hardworking man, a proud father and grandfather, a loyal friend, and a cowboy through and through. His stories will be told for years to come, his presence will be deeply missed, and his legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.
Heaven gained one hell of a cowboy.
A graveside service will be held Friday November 6th at 11:00 a.m. at the Plainview Cemetery in Big Piney. A celebration of life will follow the services at the Sublette County Fairgrounds. It will be a pie and coffee social and in lieu of flowers friends and loved ones are encouraged to bring a pie to share. If you can’t be there in person, then please donate to a charity of your choice.

Jane (Dillon) Schneider
February 24, 1949 – October 28, 2026
Lovell, Wyoming
Shared by: Haskell Funeral Home
Jane D. Schneider, 77, of Lovell, Wyoming, passed away surrounded by family at her home on October 28, 2026. Born and raised in Lovell, Jane lived a life filled with adventure, creativity, and, above all, love for her family.
Jane was the daughter of Bill and Loa Dillon and the fourth of eight children. Growing up, she was a daddy’s girl, outgoing, and always caring for her younger siblings. She helped with cooking and cleaning, learning early the importance of caring for those around her. Some of her fondest childhood memories were made in the family’s brick house on Nevada Avenue, a home she remembered with such affection that she wished her family had never moved away.
Jane’s love story with John Schneider began in a way that reflected her outgoing nature. While working at the Rose Bowl, Jane noticed John’s vehicle parked and commented how she wished she could get a ride home with him. John gave her that ride, and before long, Jane had asked him to the high school twirp dance. After John returned from basic training, he asked Jane to marry him. The two eloped to St. Anthony, Idaho, and were married on September 4, 1965, beginning a life together filled with family, hard work, and adventure.
Jane was a wonderful wife and a loving, protective mother to her three children, Jamie Hafner, Johnny Schneider, and Jason Schneider. She showed her love in countless ways, including staying up all night sewing doll clothes for Jamie, attending every sporting event for all her kids, and cooking excellent meals for them. She worked many hours painting for D&S Construction alongside John in their construction business, helping build their life together.
Family trips to Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, became treasured memories, as did the many journeys Jane and John took together in their RV to San Diego and throughout the Southwest.
Jane was a woman of many talents and remarkable determination. In the early 1990s, she woke up one morning and announced, “I’m going to college.” She followed through on that declaration, graduating with high honors from Northwest College in Powell, WY. She was an exceptionally talented seamstress, making John a three-piece suit from scratch. Her meticulous crocheting, cross-stitching, and embroidery reflected the care and patience she brought to everything she created.
One of Jane’s greatest passions was rock hunting and camping in the Bighorn Mountains. She loved the outdoors. She treasured her collection of arrowheads and spent many happy hours exploring the places she loved. She was also a tough and dedicated softball player who played for many years, carrying that same determination and competitive spirit into the game.
Her family continued to be her greatest joy as the years went by. Jane adored her seven grandchildren: Jamela Dilts, Jared Hafner, Jordan Hafner, Cheyanne Dickey, Jeremy Schneider, Dillon Schneider, and Ally Hartman. She also cherished her great grandchildren, Odin Dilts, Emmy Dilts and Brielle Hafner. To them, she was lovingly known as Nana Jane, a name that will forever be associated with her affection, warmth, and good heart.
She is survived by her husband, John Schneider, daughter, Jamie (Dennis) Hafner of Spearfish, SD, son, Johnny (Kristi) Schneider of Lovell, WY, son, Jason Schneider, Spearfish, SD, grandchildren, Jamela (Austin) Dilts, Rochester, MN, Jared Hafner (Kaitlin), Spearfish, SD, Jordan Hafner, Spearfish, SD, Cheyanne Dickey, Powell, WY, Jeremy Schneider, Billings, MT, Dillon Schneider, (Delany Creed), Spearfish, SD, Ally (Adam) Hartman, Spearfish, SD and great grandchildren, Odin and Emmy Dilts, Rochester, MN, and Brielle Hafner in Spearfish, SD.
Along with her siblings, Peg Snell, Willard, UT, Pam Currie, Tega Cay, SC, Sue (Shane) McKinny, Lovell, WY, Scott (Sharon) Dillon, Spokane, WA, and Tom Dillon, Lovell, WY. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Billie Jean Dillon and Toni Bassett.
Jane was so appreciative of all the staff and their genuine kindness shown at the North Big Horn Hospital. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave will remain with her family forever.
Visitation and funeral services were scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, at the Lovell Stake Center, followed by interment at Lovell Cemetery.

He leaves behind a legacy of service, friendship, cultural preservation, and community involvement that deeply touched many families in Wyoming.
Born to William James Stone and Katherine Coale Stone, Bill settled in Cheyenne in 1949 and remained devoted to the city throughout his life. During his childhood, Bill and his sister lived at the historic Plains Hotel while their father worked as a federal representative for FDR Insurance. At fourteen, Bill joined the Ki-Ann Club, fostering a lifelong appreciation for American Indian culture, particularly the Sioux Nation.

His dedication to excellence and community service also earned him places in the Laramie County Community College Hall of Fame and the Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame. Bill’s association with Cheyenne Frontier Days began in 1956, evolving from a concessionaire role to over sixty years of service to this cherished tradition.
In 1965, Bill joined his father-in-law Richard “Dick” Hutchison, at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Pancake Breakfast, where he met members of the Indians Committee, leading to a lifelong commitment to honoring and preserving Native American traditions.
Appointed Chairman of the Indians Committee in 1979, Bill sought to enhance the Indian Village at Frontier Days, transforming it into a vibrant cultural center that attracted a wide array of Native participants. His friendship with Billy Evans Hunting Horse, a Kiowa chief, expanded Native involvement and enhanced the cultural richness of the event.
Bill’s community involvement extended beyond Frontier Days. He volunteered tirelessly for organizations like the Elks, Kiwanis, and the Ki-Ann Indian Club, always aiming to improve his community and support others.
Those who knew Bill remember his boundless energy, unwavering integrity, and genuine kindness. He was a storyteller, mentor, volunteer, athlete, and friend who believed in the importance of relationships, preservation of traditions, and service to others.
Over more than six decades of volunteerism, leadership, and cultural advocacy, Bill helped shape Cheyenne Frontier Days into a more welcoming and meaningful celebration. His influence endures in the traditions he strengthened and the people whose lives he touched.
In leu of a service, Bill’s family asks that Bill be remembered not only for his many honors but for the respect he showed, the friendships he built, and the bridges he created between cultures and generations.
