State audit confirms Bar Nunn’s proper handling of dissolved water district funds

A state audit now confirms the town of Bar Nunn’s claim of proper handling of dissolved Wardwell Water and Sewer District funds. The audit found no wrongdoing and cited human error as a source of confusion over the mill levy, Oil City News reports. The review addressed arguments from the district’s customers who questioned whether the 2024 mill levy, collected by the Natrona County treasurer in 2025, was improperly assessed or distributed to the town. Green River debates rising costs for wastewater plant

The Green River City Council approved a $200,000 change order for the wastewater treatment plant replacement project this week, but it wasn’t without strong opposition from two council members. The latest change order for the $51 million facility marks the fourth change order since the project started. Chronic wasting disease detected in Cody, Jackson deer hunt areas

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is confirming the detection of chronic wasting disease in deer in two new western Wyoming hunt areas. The always-fatal wildlife disease showed up in a hunter-harvested adult male mule deer in a hunt area near Cody and bordered by Yellowstone National Park. An adult male white-tailed deer also tested positive in a Jackson hunt area next to Grand Teton National Park, Buckrail reports. Read the full story.
Albany County Hospital District plans for new nursing home

The Albany County Hospital District Board convened a special meeting to discuss how best to pursue a new nursing home facility.
