BLM hosts public meeting regarding mule deer management

— June 23, 2013

(Press release) The Bureau of Land Management Pinedale Field Office, in coordination with the Pinedale Anticline Project Office, will host a public meeting on Tuesday, July 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at 1625 W. Pine St., Pinedale, Wyo., to present the Sublette Mule Deer Mitigation Plan Environmental Assessment (EA).

The EA has four alternatives and was developed in response to a decline in the mule deer population on the Mesa near Pinedale, Wyo., a Pinedale Anticline Wildlife Monitoring and Mitigation Matrix trigger that requires a mitigation response. The EA will be available online July 1 at www.wy.blm.gov/jio-papo/papo/index.htm or www.blm.gov/wy/st/en/field_offices/Pinedale/anticline/resources/wildlife.html.

Public comment will be sought regarding the proposed mitigation and implementation alternatives during the meeting. Written comments will also be accepted by delivery or mail to Eric Decker, Project Coordinator, 1625 W. Pine St., P.O. Box 768, Pinedale, WY 82941 or by email to egdecker@blm.gov. Comments must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on July 15.
