Nonprofit shoulders cost of preventing vet homelessness due to government shutdown

The Sheridan-headquartered nonprofit Volunteers of America Northern Rockies runs a program called Supportive Services for Veteran Families. Funded through an annual U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs grant, the program addresses homelessness by helping low-income vets with housing, food assistance, health care, transportation and utility bills.
