Ranchers ponder solar-powered collars to move grazing cattle

More ranchers are considering investing in virtual fencing for managing cattle following a successful pilot project in Sheridan County. Rancher Dan Reinke partnered with the Sheridan Community Land Trust to be one of the first producers to try technology available through the New Zealand company Halter, which expanded its virtual fencing operations to U.S. markets about a year ago, The Sheridan Press reports. Jackson Hole skiers will find fewer parking spaces at Stilson lot

A popular bus stop and carpool meet-up to get to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort will hold about 40% fewer cars this winter. The typical 850-space gravel lot will have about 500 spots this winter, some paved.
