Sheridan businesses pay price for online scams with Wyoming address

The boutique and gift shop This Joyful Home in Ranchester sells an array of items from local and regional artisans. In the back, the store is also home to a print shop. Owner Shanna White calls her business a neighborhood gift shop, and it’s kept that reputation for many years. So when White received a call from a man inquiring about a missing order from Joyfulprints, White knew something was wrong. She also knew it wasn’t her company. The man had confused her business with a Wyoming-based LLC, one of nearly 300,000 registered to a single address in Sheridan, The Sheridan Press reports. Read the full story.


Annual homeless count shows increase of nearly 100 in Casper area

Casper recorded 262 homeless people in this year’s annual Point in Time count, an increase of almost 100 people from the prior year’s count. Performed annually by Community Action Partnership, the count is designed to identify and connect with the community’s homeless population. “Definitively, we’re seeing people with fewer options, eviction rates have been higher and people who have bad histories haven’t been able to get in,” Community Action Partnership’s executive director told Oil City News. Microsoft intends to purchase 3,200 acres south of Cheyenne for data centers

Microsoft has announced plans to purchase around 3,200 acres of land south of Cheyenne for continued development of data centers. The massive expansion would effectively triple the tech giant’s physical footprint in and around the capital city, building upon a presence that began in 2012. The project, which involves a 200-acre parcel in the Bison Business Park and an adjacent 3,000-acre tract, is seen by local leaders as a multi-year commitment to data center development, the Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports. 100-day skiers at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort make the most of ‘strip to strip’ season

Todd Kehoe was fueled up and ready to get some last laps in. He goes by “shred_lord” on Instagram. And even though there wasn’t as much powder to shred this season, he still brought the stoke for closing weekend. “Just gonna ski some jumps and bumps,” he told KHOL. More than 100 die-hard skiers like Kehoe made the most of an unseasonably warm winter.
